Elphin
Elphin are a dynamic folk band who specialise in traditional music from the British Isles. From lively reels, to beautiful slow airs and songs our repertoire draws on material from all over the UK from Shetland to Somerset. Alongside our traditional repertoire Elphin perform original material by band members.
Danielle studied music at City University and has a masters in Composition. She currently works as a composer for film and television and has a background in music education.
Laura stuided ethnomusicology at SOAS and trained as a music therapist at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She currently works with children and adults with special needs and learning disabilities.
Jason studied viola at Trinity College. He currently works in music education. Jason has a classical background and composes original material for the band.
Justin is a self taught bass player. He regularly performs with rock band The Goose. Justin works as a health professional within a hospital setting.
Uilleam joined the band in 2007. Uilleam is a self-taught guitarist and singer. He is currently completing a PhD in Lingusitics at UCL.
Miranda is an actress and singer. She is also a balloon artist and an expert in the art of contact juggling.
